Man accused of living in burglarized Piedmont house dies in jail, cellmate accused of murder (KRON) -- A man who was arrested for allegedly breaking into a Piedmont home and living there for two days was found dead in his jail cell on Wednesday, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. His cellmate is accused of murdering him. Yuri Brand, 39, of El Cerrito, was arrested after he allegedly broke into a home on the 1600 block of Grand Avenue. The Piedmont Police Department said he was a convicted burglar who had also been arrested another time for trespassing at a home. Police: Man who threatened San Jose school as hoax arrested Deputies at the Santa Rita Jail were conducting a routine check at 12:23 p.m. Wednesday when they found Brand unresponsive. He was declared dead less than an hour later. A complaint of murder was submitted to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office against 33-year-old Bryson Levy of Oakland, who was Brand's cellmate. (KDVR) — Two University of Colorado Boulder freshmen were walking home last Saturday night when a suspected drunk driver ran onto the sidewalk and hit them.They were just a few weeks into their college experience. (KDVR) — It's been 10 years since devastating floods tore through northern Colorado, but the memory is fresh for those who were there. The memories are especially powerful for Ginger and Roy Palmeri, who dealt with some of the biggest highs and lows of their life in the span of just a few days. Enduring images of 2013 Colorado flood tell story of hope at new exhibit At nine months pregnant, Ginger had to be evacuated by the National Guard, her water breaking just hours after reaching safety.
