The Orioles’ game Wednesday night against the New York Yankees was delayed for about 17 minutes in the bottom of the fifth inning after an errant throw to first base sailed into the camera well and struck a YES Network cameraman.With one out and a runner on first, Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe hit a ground ball to second base, where Baltimore’s Adam Frazier bobbled the ball and flipped it to shortstop Gunnar Henderson for the out at second. Hurrying in an effort to get Volpe, Henderson sailed his throw to first, going above first baseman Ryan O’Hearn and striking Pete Stendel in the head. Wednesday’s Chicago White Sox game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Guaranteed Rate Field was postponed because of rain.It will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader starting at 4:10 p.m. Thursday.The second game will begin about 30 to 45 minutes after Game 1 ends but not before 7:10. Parking lots and gates will open at 3:10.The Game 1 pitchers will be José Berríos for the Blue Jays and Lance Lynn for the Sox. HONOLULU (AP) — A man in Hawaii died after setting off fireworks on the Fourth of July holiday, police said. Police and firefighters responding to a report of an illegal fireworks accident Tuesday night at a Big Island parking lot found a man lying on the ground with a head injury. Police identified him as Glen John Nakata, 20, of Kailua-Kona. “Bystanders stated they saw Nakata holding a fireworks launcher above his head when a firework went off, sending the young man to the ground,” the Hawaii Police Department said.He was taken to a hospital where he died.
